David - very happy New Year and holidays to you and family. Appreciated our recent exchange re: presidents’ performance at house hearing. I was so frustrated by it and the rest of it what passes for news that I needed to let someone know, so I let you know. And you replied. All best, Arthur
I always understood that serifs are more legible than sans serifs. The serifs accentuate the letter shapes and help the mind to distinguish the letters. In any case though, the sheer aesthetic unpleasantness of reading anything longer than a tweet in sans serif should be sufficient to settle the question, imho.
David, however and whenever I can support you in whatever way is most helpful to you, I am here at your disposal. Here's to 2023 and the year that was and to 2024.
On the fonts point, I started out in Comic Sans MS, but switched to Times New Roman after I started my LLB, and I’ve stuck with it as I proceed through my Solicitor’s exams. However, as I’ve got blinder (and eventually ended up with a certificate of visual impairment recording that I’m officially blind) my font size has increased so all my output is usually (with some exceptions for formal or assessed work) in font size 16
sans serif on right. it has a broader blacker stroke and it's square edges lend themselves to best use of complete pixels

Damn it Lat, you got me to sign up!
Thank you for your support, Rob—you're keeping my kid in diapers! (And he sure goes through a lot of them....)
I remember those days all too well and I hope your first holiday season with him is as great as it was with my first, 28 years ago. Enjoy!

Viva la serifs! (As I also put in your survey; merely reiterating my enthusiasm for them here.)

What a wonderful testimonial—thank you so much, Colin!
You deserve it!
Thank you, Colin! If you could submit a short testimonial via the Google Form, I'd be very grateful, especially given your prominence in the field.
You had a big year in 2023. Congrats again on the book!
