Thank you for continuing to report on this story. If I remember correctly, your initial assessment was that Wendi Adelson had nothing to do with planning or carrying out her husband's murder. I'm curious whether you've changed your mind and, if so, how.
I think I would now say that I'm agnostic on the question, based on some things that she did on the morning of the murder. For example, she had a long conversation with Charlie that morning, and then she went to an out-of-the-way liquor store that would have taken her past Trescott (her old street)—perhaps so she could see if something had happened there. And then her trial testimony about the Trescott drive-by was inconsistent with what she previously told Detective Isom. So I'm unsure of what to think now.
This is one of the more sordid murder stories out there. I went to law school with someone who actually knew Professor Markel, so I developed an interest in the story and am just heartbroken for his kids, who lost their father, his parents, who lost their son and (thanks to Wendi Adelson, who just looks more and more odious with each new revelation, even if she didn't participate in the murder conspiracy) grandchildren, and of course, Professor Markel himself, who didn't deserve to die in this horrific fashion.

This is really unbelievable - the stuff of movies. (He was my pre-law tutor at Lowell House.)

It is all so incredibly sad.
Thank you for continuing to shine a light on this tragic episode.
